1 Timothy 6:12-16 TLB

¹² Fight on for God. Hold tightly to the eternal life that God has given you and that you have confessed with such a ringing confession before many witnesses. ¹³ I command you before God, who gives life to all, and before Christ Jesus, who gave a fearless testimony before Pontius Pilate, ¹⁴ that you fulfill all he has told you to do so that no one can find fault with you from now until our Lord Jesus Christ returns. ¹⁵ For in due season Christ will be revealed from heaven by the blessed and only Almighty God, the King of kings and Lord of lords, ¹⁶ who alone can never die, who lives in light so terrible that no human being can approach him. No mere man has ever seen him nor ever will. Unto him be honour and everlasting power and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

1. God is calling all singles to do the work of soldiers – to fight for a good cause in order to win everything here on earth and also in heaven. They are called to go to battle in order to lay hold on heaven's proposal for them – CROWN OF LIFE.

2. They are charged to follow the footsteps of Jesus in bearing the TRUTH of the gospel, so as to live blameless and rooted in their heavenly calling.

3. God is charging all the singles to live up to what God has done through Christ in their lives, and to desire to be helped by the Holy Spirit at all times.

4. God wants all the singles to know that He is not a burden, but a burden-bearer Who is capable of helping them to achieve the standard of heaven for their lives. He is charging all the Singles to live with a great focus on the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

PRAYER 

• Lord, please open the eyes of our singles to everything that lies in their faith in Jesus Christ. Help them to see their place in You, so they can maintain themselves in You through the power of the Holy Spirit. 

• Lord let not the TRUTH You are presenting to our singles be in vain. Help them to hold on to it dearly and faithfully until they become what You want them to become in Christ Jesus. 

• Lord, grant them the revelation of Your calling upon their lives, so they can walk accordingly through Your strength and the Grace that is embedded in their calling. 

• Lord, help them to follow the footsteps of Jesus always in fighting for the gospel and in the courage to bear the TRUTH as witnesses to God's divine plan. 

• Lord, please take away the love of the world from them. Help them to give no place to the devil in their lives. Keep them strong in Christ at all times. 

• Lord, help them to lean on Your mercy as they keep their faith in You, grant them the special grace to live up to heaven's expectation - their focus on the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Daughters of Zelophehad

Numbers 27:1-10 (NKJV)

 ¹Then came the daughters of Zelophehad the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, from the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph; and these were the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah. 

² And they stood before Moses, before Eleazar the priest, and before the leaders and all the congregation, by the doorway of the tabernacle of meeting, saying: 

³ “Our father died in the wilderness; but he was not in the company of those who gathered together against the Lord, in company with Korah, but he died in his own sin; and he had no sons. 

⁴ Why should the name of our father be removed from among his family because he had no son? Give us a possession among our father’s brothers.”

⁵ So Moses brought their case before the Lord.

⁶ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

⁷ “The daughters of Zelophehad speak what is right; you shall surely give them a possession of inheritance among their father’s brothers, and cause the inheritance of their father to pass to them. 

⁸ And you shall speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘If a man dies and has no son, then you shall cause his inheritance to pass to his daughter.

⁹ If he has no daughter, then you shall give his inheritance to his brothers. 

¹⁰ If he has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to his father’s brothers.

Vs. 1 The Issue of Genealogy and Lineage

Bring our sons and daughters into Calvary. Let them see, embrace and follow Jesus all their days.

Sort out their roots- let them have a clear, definite and tangible encounter with Jesus.

Cause there to be an end {a full stop} to their old/sinful/natural life and bring them into the divine life.

Vs. 2 What to Stand For

Let the totality of their passion; audacity; sacrifice; strength; resources; ambition be to promote Christ the hope of glory.

Help them willingly offer and lay down their lives in order to gain Christ.

The allure, temptation and offer of this world- though persistent must find no space in their hearts.

Hebrews 11:23-25. As they grow up, help them refuse to be known as the sons/daughters of darkness.

Help them choose to be persecuted along with other people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin. Help them regard disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt.

Vs.3 Alliance with not against Christ

Attitudes that typifies a Korathite:

• Rebellion against God; a puffed up and exaggerated sense of one self; deviant behaviour; not willing to submit in discipleship or to spiritual authority; unbendable; unteachable; thinking that the can equally do or exceed the labour of their disciplers; always questioning and challenging God but with a proud heart; cause schism in the body.
• Open their eyes and help them discern all avenues with the intent to make them turn against God. {Worldly norms; rights to freedom and liberty; music, internet etc.}

Vs. 4 What Ought to Be the Sum Total of Their Lives?

• Make their life cry be to ensure that the Life of Jesus has continuity; to ensure that His life is palpable, touchable and real through them.
• Cripple and paralyse the works of darkness for God’s kingdom to come!!!

Vs. 5 Their Inheritance Inside Christ

• Settle them inside Christ. Bring them into their inheritance and make them part of the labour for revival - in their career and in their homes. Grant that they will have disciples’ homes to bring up godly seed.

Excel in Holiness

1 Thessalonians 4:3-7

For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.

2 Corinthians 7:1

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Do away with anything contrary to having a pure heart, honest speech and pleasing behaviour. Stand clean and pure in the fear of God and for His holy service.

Follow Heaven's guidelines in all purity. Do not abuse your body but dignify it in Christ. Keep clean inside-out, so the beauty of God within will be evident to all on the outside.

PRAYER:

• Lord, purge the vessel of my soul and shield it against all filthiness. Perfect Your holiness and the fear of You in me and in all my endeavours.

• Separate me from all things contrary to purity. Establish me in Your holiness. Let Your holiness direct my will and purpose in life.

• Lord, please affect my affections in a tangible way, touch me significantly so that Your Will can drive my life in all matters. Let Your righteousness be established in every area of my life.

• Lord, help me not to cheat myself and others around me in fulfilling the purpose of Heaven. Let me understand that others will suffer if I do not act or live out Your will for my life.

• Grant me the grace to live by achieving the goal of heaven in all matters of my existence.

The Glory of the New Covenant

2 Corinthians 3: 7 - 17

But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, 8 how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? 9 For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory. 10 For even what was made glorious had no glory in this respect, because of the glory that excels. 11 For if what is passing away was glorious, what remains is much more glorious. 12 Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech—13 unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. 14 But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. 15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. 16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Prayers:

Lord, our youths, singles and members of our home have been deceived with a fading glory. They are now consumed with the love for the world and sophisticated gadgets, fashion, money etc. They labour day and night just to possess that which will be destroyed in the end.

Some who are in the fold (Members of the Body of Christ) are being fed with junk. Inspirational messages, enticing words and wisdom of men have become their gospel, feeding their heads and not their souls. For others, their faith has become a religion of enmity. Those who are truly hungry are fed with Your Word in the absence of Your Spirit and it does not give them life. And Lord, without Your Spirit, there is no GLORY.

Lord, these ones, because they lack the truth, have offered themselves as instruments of unrighteousness; workers of iniquity. But Lord, your mercy has found us out, picked us and recruited us. So Lord, we come in love, to intercede for them and also for ourselves in thanksgiving, that you may reveal to us Your GLORY. 

1 Timothy 2:19

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Our foundation must be JESUS CHRIST.

Our source of inspiration must be the Holy Spirit .

Our message must be centred on the complete Gospel, the message of the cross.

Pray that the Lord will visit our youths and singles and open their heart to the truth.

1 Timothy 2:20

Now in a large house, there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and earthenware, and some to honour and some to dishonour. Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honour, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

Pray that as the Lord visit His Church in the coming revival, our youths, singles and members of our homes will be purged, cleansed and sanctified, set free from every trace of sin, self and the old Adamic nature. Lord, let them be willing in the day of Your power.

      

Psalm 110:3

Your people will offer themselves willingly in the day of Your power, in the beauty of holiness and in holy array out of the womb of the morning; to You [will spring forth] Your young men, who are as the dew.

Prayers:

Lord, let Your zeal consume our youths, singles and members of our home as it consumed Christ when he lived amongst men. John 2: 17.

The glory of the youth is their strength. Lord, please encounter our youths, singles and members of our home. Create a deepened hunger and unquenchable thirst in them for the truth of the complete Gospel. Let them not awake in their night season while the day is fast rolling away.

For those who are already in the fold, Lord, please deepen our conviction daily so that they do not continue in sluggishness but be bold in their faith and swift in their obedience.

Make us specimen of true holiness, purity and light - a spirit-filled life.

Grant us courage and boldness to stand for truth and righteousness.

Though the youth shall utterly fall, but they that put their trust in You shall renew their strength. Father, may we put our trust and confidence in You alone.

Come Into His Rest

Psalm 95:7-11 

Hebrews 3:12-19 and 4:1-16 

• A promise remains of entering His rest; it still holds and it is offered today. Heb 4:1 
• We must be careful not to fall short of it. The word they heard did not profit them because it was not mixed with faith. Heb 4:2
• The works were finished from the foundation of the world waiting for all who will believe.
• Those who first heard the word preached to them did not enter into His rest because of disobedience, unbelief and doubt. Heb 4:3
• There remains a rest for the (true) people of God; God sets a new “TODAY” and gives another opportunity. Heb 4:6
• For every house is built by someone but He who builds all things is God. Heb 3:4
• No creature is concealed from His sight. All things are open, exposed, naked and defenseless. Heb 4:13

Instructions:

• Beware of the wicked, unbelieving heart which refuses to cleave to, trust in, rely on Him leading you to turn away and desert or stand aloof from the Living God. Heb 3:12
• Warn, admonish, urge, encourage one another every day.  Heb 3:13
• Today, if you will hear His voice and when you hear it, do not harden your hearts. Heb 3:7-8, 15:4:7
• Let us be zealous, exert ourselves, strive diligently to enter that rest of God. WHY?
• To know and experience it for ourselves so that no one may fall or perish by the same kind of disobedience into which those in the wilderness fell. Heb 4:11
• Let us hold fast our confession in Jesus Christ. He is a High Priest who understands and sympathises with us.

Weapon of our Warfare: 
For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power {making it active, operative, energizing and effective}: it is sharper than any two edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breadth of life {soul} and {the immortal} spirit, and of joints and marrow of the {deepest parts of our nature} exposing and sifting and analysing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart. Heb 4:12

Prayer Points:

• Father, deal with unbelief, doubt and disobedience in our lives as singles and in our lives as we make decisions concerning our homes, children, career and in other lives you entrusted into our hands. 

• Help us all to patiently wait on you ALWAYS as singles and in whatever stage of life we are at.

• As we have received Christ, as singles, fathers, mothers, grandparents etc help us to walk, regulate our lives and conduct our lives in union with and conformity to Him. 

• Let us all be deeply planted and rooted in Christ, fixed and founded in Him.

• Jesus, You are the one who called us to Yourself; Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light. Help us to leave our burden at Your feet. ALL BURDENS (Name them).

• Jesus, keep  us near the Cross; keep us INSIDE CHRIST.

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

• God's children were created wholesome from the beginning and made complete in Christ. God made everyone fearfully and wonderfully, either married or SINGLE – Psalm 139:14.

• Having made complete in Christ, we are able to express the image of God through godly attributes.

• The fullness of God in our lives enables us to delight ourselves in Him and to trust Him at all times – Psalm 37:4-5.

*Perfect looks will not bring the perfect man or lead to perfect marriage*

Prayers:

• Lord, help our singles to know that they are complete in Jesus Christ. Let them not be distracted by the philosophies of the world. Help them to see You and hear You clearly in the affairs of their lives. Let them be mindful of their completeness in Christ and unite them with the purpose of heaven in all their endeavour.

• Lord, please put an end to any process that is not of God in their lives. Help them to keep trusting and hoping in what only You can do for them. Renew their minds daily in Your Word and let them live everyday in the fullness of Christ.

• Lord, rid our singles of discouragements, pains, hurts and any perceived failure they might have experienced in any area of their lives. Revive Your work in them, and help them to seek to bless others while waiting.

Genesis 2:18-22 

And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” ¹⁹ Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. ²⁰ So, Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. ²¹ And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. ²² Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.

God’s Counsel to Singles and Disciples:

• God’s assessment and conclusion that ‘it is not good that man should be alone’ moves HIM to act; not our assessment of being alone.

• Until I agree with Gen. 2:18a; I will not see the need to marry or may enter into marriage with faulty foundations.

• God is the ONLY one qualified to make a help meet suitable for our singles (personality or compatibility tests, speed or online dating, co-habiting, investing in prayer house/mountain or prayer contractors, seeing prophets, forcing or self moulding your spouse to become something) are all fruitless efforts.

• The words 'I will make' (present continuous) gives us assurance that God is always at work in our spouse both to will and to do HIS good pleasure. The process of making is progressive and perpetual, such that both man and woman can expand and complement each other whilst the need and labour changes.

• Investment in other sources (books, conferences, marriage counsellors etc.) which stem not from CHRIST, to 'make' our spouse only resorts to frustration.

• No man will ever find a comparable helper in animals - at best they can only be good pets. Never best friends or even a suitable help.

• God still desires that we sleep (rest in HIM) while He is making our spouse. Restlessness is a sign that we don’t trust GOD.

• Sometimes, wives feel insecure or irrelevant in the marriage. God seem to be saying that your input/coming into your husband’s life adds the ‘very good’ and completes him.

Genesis 2:1 TLB

The heavens and the earth were successfully completed, with all that they contained.

Genesis 1:1-21 & 2:1-17
Ever before man was formed, God had created all he will ever need on the earth. Provisions were made for food, shelter/accommodation, career, security, raiment etc. Ignorance and/or misunderstanding regarding this provision makes a man postpone marriage.

According to the Office for National Statistics, marriage in Britain is at its lowest level since 1895. In 2011, there were just 286,634 ceremonies, a 41% decrease from 1972, when 480,285 couples tied the knot.

According to Pew Research Center, the share of American adults who have never been married is at an historic high. Men are more likely than women to have never made it down the aisle (23% vs. 17%).

Quotes on Why Men and Women Refuse to Marry

"Men aren't wimping out by staying unmarried or being commitment phobes. They are being smart. They don’t want to enter into a legal contract with someone who could effectively take half their savings, pension and property when the honeymoon period is over."

"Be in a relationship, even live together. But don’t get married; especially if you have any prospects of making money. If he’s determined to get married, then he must get a pre-nuptial agreement. Otherwise steer clear altogether."

Young teenager mums: It’s a career move because with the state and their father contributing, it offers more guaranteed security than a job.

Prayers

• Help me Father, to be intimately acquainted with the Word (Jesus) and to engage the Holy Spirit who is my Counsellor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Standby and Strengthener. John 14:26 AMP.

• Please Lord, do not let our singles hesitate or rush into marriage because of ignorance of the scriptures and how God works.

• Lord, help my heart know that You successfully completed the earth, heaven and all that’s contained in it so that lack never constitutes a reason for dissolution of my marriage.

•  Let Calvary push out every doctrine that has been erected in my heart in which Christ is not the substance - e.g. prenuptial agreements, feminism, desire to maintain one’s identity, trust in one’s ability, personal ambition etc.   

• God was neither idle nor arbitrary when He made man. The trinity consented in making man (Gen 1:26). Man was created in God’s image (Gen 1:27). He was a carrier of the life-light and charged with overseeing the earth (Gen 1:26b) to subdue darkness (Gen 2:7), multiply his kind (sinless man carrying God’s image) – Gen 1:28 and God released him into his own labour (Gen 2:15).

• Regardless of whatever may have surrounded my conception, please let it dawn on my heart that my birth is not arbitrary.

• Help me Lord, to press on and lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus laid hold of me. Phil 3:12.

• Grant me grace to obey YOUR instruction to be fruitful, multiply, replenish and subdue the earth by being a carrier of the life of Jesus Christ.

• Let the peculiarity (grace to live above sin and sinful habit) of my life/home/marriage draw men to Jesus. Titus 2:11-14.

• Cause my life to be that which subdues darkness.
